The ASANRA 44th Board meeting and the 9th Africa Transportation Technology Transfer (T2) Conference were held on 20th May, 2024 and from 21st –24th May 2024, respectively, at Joaquim Chissano International Conference Centre in Maputo, Mozambique. The conference was officially opened by the Hon. Carlos Mesquita, Minister of Public Works, Housing and Water Resources, and closed by Engineer Elias Paulo, President of ASANRA and General Director of the National Roads Administration of Mozambique.
The Conference brought together 213 delegates from 11 countries, including Angola, Botswana, India, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania, the United States of America, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The conference included ASANRA Board Meting which was held on the first day, 20th May 2024, three exhibitions, twenty six (26) paper presentations during a two-day workshop and a site visit, as well as an opening cocktail and a gala dinner.
Participants represented various international and local organisations and included experts from different fields within the transport sector. The Conference provided a platform for sharing knowledge, experiences and innovations and for discussing current issues affecting the development of Africa’s transport sector.
